This makes a roadmap somewhat useless, however this is a collection of notes, forum discussions and links that may be useful if the project continues.
Memberships Feature Roadmap
As mentioned, Webflow does not publish a roadmap and is generally very secretive about upcoming features.
There are very few bits of information that come through in the forum interchanges between Webflow's team and the community, and this is an effort to catalog that.
Any information I've collected may not be complete or current.
Here's the current state, to my understanding;
Project Status
Around May 2023, Webflow announced that they needed to halt development and release User Accounts and Logic as-is with no current plans for future development.
Why was the project halted?
While there was no specific reason given, there were likely several-
- Resources were needed on other projects including core systems development
- Infrastructure changes required for User Accounts and Logic were substantial and were impacting the rest of the system - we were seeing a lot of outages and instabilities
- Localization wasn’t really getting the resourcing it needed and was a higher priority
- Attention was being redirected towards a new strategy which is to improve the API, Designer Apps and external Apps integration options so that Membership services could be built and integrated by specialist companies like Memberstack.
