What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and it refers to the process of making your website as discoverable as possible in search engines.

Specifically it describes your sites rankings in organic results, rather than paid advertising results ( PPC ).

The 4 facets of SEO

includes at least 4 separate facets that work together;

  1. Content SEO. The content on your site, including both textual content and images. Blogs, news articles, FAQs, product pages, image galleries are all part of this.
  2. Technical SEO. The domain name(s) you use. The structure of your site and URLs, the presence of META Description tags and Open Graph elements, your sitemap.xml, robots.txt, and redirects.
  3. Off-Page SEO. Includes back-links from other site, partner directories, directory listings, social media campaigns, and more.
  4. User-Experience ( UX ) SEO. Refers to the experience of a user who encounters your listing in Google Results. Is your message clear? Does it look good? Do I want to click it? Is it well-organized and accessible? Does it look like a professional site?

In this course, we'll dig into SEO strategy, what to expect, and the crucial things you need to do to make your site work.
