Yes this is a harsh reality, so let me address this now, in the form of my 4 laws of SEO.

Mike's 4 Laws of SEO

( ^ because I like saying that )

1. Just because you built your site doesn't mean Google will crawl it.
2. Just because Google crawls it doesn't mean they will index it.
3. Just because Google indexes it doesn't mean you'll appear in search results.
4. And even if all of the above is happening, it doesn't mean Google will capture all of your site.

Accept that. Nothing is guaranteed here, and Google search is - after all - a free service.
